We work with clients across the public sector on a wide range of issues including health and social care, data systems, the environment, climate change and cultural heritage. Current clients include the MET Office, Nuffield Council on Bioethics, the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, Nuffield Foundation, Genomics England, Cancer Research UK and the Universities of Sheffield, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cambridge and Oxford.

Who we are looking for

Our ideal Research Assistant is flexible, confident, and shares our values. You'll enjoy working collaboratively with others, and have excellent communication skills through conversation, and in writing. We are looking for a Research Assistant who is able to prioritise complex and competing deliverables, with exceptional attention to detail. You will be happy to pick up the phone to recruit people to our workshops, or to support research participants. HVM is a learning organisation so self-reflection, sharing learning and responding to feedback are also important.

  • Proficient at Microsoft Office (essential)

  • Able to learn to use analytic tools such as NVivo

Our Research Assistant supports all our projects, liaising with a broad range of stakeholders and learning by working closely with senior colleagues. This is a full time role working at our offices in Whitechapel and flexibly from home. We do require office working as a minimum two days a week on a Tuesday and one other day. You can arrange your hours to suit you with a working day being 8 hours including a paid lunch break. Our workshops are delivered on weekday evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu. We offer a 5% contribution to the pension scheme.
