Understanding the impacts of aviation noise

HVM is delighted to be working with Sustainable Aviation, a collaboration of over 90% of UK airlines, airports and air navigation service providers, as well as all major UK aerospace manufacturers. We are in the process of designing and delivering a set of focus groups near the airports Manchester, Birmingham and Gatwick. Our team will support recruited participants to reflect on how aviation noise affects their lives, the specific issues of noise (tone/ pitch/ frequency) which have particularly adverse impact on quality of life and priorities for action when balancing noise with other impacts such as safety, pollution and climate change.

We are due to report on our findings in early September and look forward to working with Sustainable Aviation in an ongoing relationship to gain a more nuanced understanding of the impacts of aviation noise on people's lives.
